Chemical Element:

Information: Einsteinium

Known Methods of Extraction

Einsteinium is a synthetic, highly radioactive actinide, first identified in 1952 in the debris of the first hydrogen bomb test. It does not occur naturally and is produced in minute amounts in high-flux nuclear reactors or thermonuclear explosions. Its isotopes are mainly used in scientific research, particularly as targets to synthesize heavier transuranic elements.
