info nobelium

Chemical Element:

Information: Nobelium

Known Methods of Extraction

Nobelium is a synthetic, highly radioactive actinide, first produced in 1958 by bombarding curium-244 with carbon ions. It does not occur naturally and is made in extremely small amounts in specialized particle accelerators or high-flux reactors. Its isotopes are used exclusively for scientific research, particularly in studying the chemistry of the heaviest actinides.
