## **Hawaiian Beef Burgers**

### **Ingredients**
* 1½ pounds ground chuck
* 1 teaspoon salt
* ¼ teaspoon pepper
* 1 (13-ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* ¼ cup soy sauce
* 1 tablespoon white vinegar
* ¼ cup vegetable oil
* 2 tablespoons ketchup
* ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
* 6 slices bacon

### **Make Ahead**
You can prepare through **step 3 up to 8 hours ahead**. Refrigerate until ready to cook.

### **Directions**
1. **Form patties.**
Combine beef, salt, and pepper in a large bowl; mix well.
Shape into **6 patties**.
2. **Add pineapple.**
Press **5–6 pineapple tidbits** into each patty.
Place patties in a glass baking dish.
3. **Marinate.**
Combine garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, oil, ketchup, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
Pour over patties.
Refrigerate, covered, until ready to cook, **at least 15 minutes**.
4. **Grill.**
Preheat grill. Drain patties.
Wrap each patty with a slice of bacon; secure with a wooden pick.
Grill patties **8 minutes per side**.

Omit the pineapple if you like—these burgers will still taste great.
