**Mushroom-Swiss Burger Pie**
**INGREDIENTS**
8 ounces ground beef
1 small onion,
chopped
1 (4-ounce) can sliced
mushrooms, drained
8 ounces Swiss cheese
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon prepared
mustard
¼ cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 unbaked (9-inch)
piecrust
**SERVES 6**
**Make Ahead**
You can prepare through
step 1 up to 2 hours ahead.
Refrigerate until ready
to proceed.
**VARIATION**
Put some zip into
this pie by adding
1 teaspoon prepared
horseradish in
step 2.
**1** Preheat oven to 350°F.
Heat a medium skillet
over medium heat. Add
ground beef and onion.
Cook, stirring occasionally,
until browned and crumbly,
about 5 minutes. Drain.
**2** Combine beef mixture
with mushrooms,
cheese, mayonnaise,
mustard, milk and eggs in
a large bowl. Mix well.
**3** Pour mixture into
piecrust, spreading
evenly with a wooden
spoon.
**4** Bake pie until set,
about 40 minutes.
Make It Quicker
• Save a few steps by
using Dijonnaise—the
prepared combination
of Dijon mustard and
mayonnaise—instead
of purchasing and
mixing the two
ingredients. The
leftover Dijonnaise is
wonderful on ham and
cheese sandwiches, too.
